The desk and the lab. Nothing here is sponsored, and some of it is here because it was already in the house.
Desk
- MacBook Pro, M2 Pro, 16 GB. macOS treats the 16 GB as a starting point and the swap file as the real number.
- Logitech MX Master 3S
- Ghostty for the terminal, with JetBrains Mono Nerd Font
- Rectangle for windows, Maccy for clipboard history
- VS Code over Remote-SSH into a dev VM, so the laptop stays a thin client
- Claude Code, in more tabs than is reasonable
Development
- DDEV for local WordPress, one project per client build
- PHPCS with the WordPress and VIP rulesets, PHPStan, PHPUnit
- rtCamp’s theme-elementary and plugin-elementary for new builds
Homelab
The full story is in the hardware post. The short version:
- A desktop built to be the primary Proxmox node: Ryzen, RTX 5060, 32 GB
- My college laptop as the second node: ASUS TUF, GTX 1650, 16 GB, and a battery that works as a UPS
- A Raspberry Pi 5 as the always-on third machine
- A TrueNAS guest for bulk storage, Proxmox Backup Server for everything else
- TP-Link Omada for the router, switch and access points
On top of that: Docker stacks managed with Komodo, Immich for photos, Home Assistant, AdGuard Home for DNS, Ollama on the GPUs, and ntfy so all of it can complain to my phone.
